Encounter with Armadillos
Over the last few years I have begun to notice Armadillos that have been hit along the major roads.
Every year it seems there are more and more.
I live in Four Seasons on HorseShoe Bend and this year, for the first time, I have seen a couple that have been hit on HorseShoe Bend Parkway (HH).
Well, Tuesday morning I was at my mother-in-laws in Ozark Meadows. A very nice 55+ community in Osage Beach, just behind HyVee and Lowes.
She was looking at the back yard and asked me if there were two racoons out there?
No racoons...but two Armadillos digging up the yard looking for grubs.
Having never seen a live one in the wild, I walked out into the yard.
They could have cared less! They went on digging and looking for breakfast.
Not until I clapped my hands a few times did they even notice me. Then one ran under a nearby shed.
The other just kept on digging around.
I guess if you have armor plating all over your body your not too concerned about some guy making weird noises!
Now I get to spray the yard for grubs.
